In October 1998 in Detroit, Rainbow PUSH launched the Automotive Project, an initiative of the Citizenship Education Fund. Our purpose today remains the same as it was more than two decades ago: to work with automotive manufacturing companies to ensure African Americans and other people of color have access to opportunities at every level of the industry. 

A cornerstone event of the Automotive Project is the annual Global Automotive Summit. More than 500 attendees including auto executives, suppliers, dealerships, elected officials, media, and others, convene in Detroit each year to discuss the ways in which the automotive industry can fortify its goal of strengthening representation across every sector of the industry.
