Welcome To Chicago 2020

The annual NBA All-Star Weekend attracts basketball fans from all over the globe. It’s become a destination event—a festive occasion where professional athletes, entertainers, sports enthusiasts, and others convene to celebrate a shared love of athletic brilliance.

The game comes to Chicago in February 2020—the first time in 32 years it’s been in the Windy City. With all eyes of the basketball and entertainment world on Chicago, there is no better time to raise awareness and funds for a worthy cause.

The Citizenship Education Fund, a nonprofit affiliate of Rainbow PUSH Coalition, is hosting an event to benefit our Cool Kids Code program. The program seeks to close the digital divide in our inner cities by preparing citizens for the technological jobs of tomorrow. More people of color are needed in today’s transformative economy, but they lack access to training and empowerment. The Cool Kids Code program knocks down those barriers and creates opportunities to those fortunate enough to participate.

NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal is one of several special invited guests. The event will also feature a special tribute to Kobe Bryant.

Fellow NBA Hall of Famers Isiah Thomas and Dave Bing are the co-chairs of the event.
