Mark Willoughby is the Vice President of Procurement at Honda Development & Manufacturing of America (HDMA), responsible for the development and management of the supply chain that supports Honda’s North American automobile operations. In this role, he leads OEM procurement, raw material sourcing, the purchasing teams that drive new model development, and planning functions which include supplier sustainability, supplier diversity and strategic planning.
Willoughby started his career with Honda in 1989. From 1994 to 2007, Willoughby was a member of Honda’s motorcycle procurement team as a buyer performing sourcing strategy with suppliers, which included serving as senior manager.
In 2008, Willoughby joined Honda’s North American Purchasing team as a senior manager for new model cost and planning. In 2018, he gained responsibility for the raw material sourcing team. In 2020, he became Vice President of the Purchasing Division and also became responsible for the teams that lead new model purchasing, supplier quality and delivery performance and operational efficiency—a position he held until assuming his current role with HDMA.
